Stephen Bunting Wins Zuiderduin Masters Darts 2012

Stephen Bunting claimed his second BDO major title of 2012 with victory in the Zuiderduin Masters in Egmond am See, Holland. Stephen won both of his group matches 5-3, defeating Martin Adams and Geert de Vos to progress to the quarter finals where he would face Remco van Eijden.

In an impressive display, Bunting won through 3-0 in sets over the Dutchman and moved on to meet Scott Mitchell in the semi-finals. Bunting did drop a set against Mitchell, coming through 3-1 but his performance level was maintained from the previous round and he was looking good heading into the final against Alan Norris, a man who had also been in form over the Zuiderduin weekend, averaging 112.1 in winning his second group match 5-0.

Norris started the final well, landing his second 170 finish of the tournament in the opening leg, but Bunting was unstoppable and came back to win the first set before reeling off leg after leg on his way to a 5-0 set victory.

The Ladies event was won by Anastasia Dobromyslova who defeated Aileen de Graaf 2-1 in sets to claim the tite and Quin Wester won the youth event with a 2-0 set victory over Kenny Neyens
